Performance & Benefits

Heating the oil directly results in three key advantages:

  • Significant reduction in engine drag for faster, more reliable startups.
  • Immediate oil flow to critical components upon ignition, reducing internal wear.
  • Greatly reduced water and acid contamination within the oil supply.

Generally, TITAN heaters will raise cold oil temperatures by 38°C (100°F) within 1.5 to 2 hours. A full heat cycle for the entire engine block is typically accomplished within 5 to 6 hours.

No. TITAN heaters distribute heat across a very large surface area. Because the surface temperature remains well below the threshold that would damage or "scorch" oil, the result is gentle, even heating.

When sized correctly, TITAN heaters raise the oil temperature to approximate operating levels for the engine.

Because heat rises from the oil pan, a small amount of heat is absorbed by the coolant. You can expect a 8–11°C (15–20°F) increase in coolant temperature. The engine block walls act as a highly effective thermal barrier, keeping the heat focused where it is needed most: the lower engine.

Installation & Compatibility

While we recommend installation at the bottom of the sump for maximum efficiency (as heat rises), an installation on the side of a reservoir or sump will still yield excellent results.

Yes. TITAN heaters can be installed on single-plane curves with a radius as small as 1 inch. However, they must never be installed on compound curves or uneven surfaces.

No. The installation of a TITAN heater is permanent. Attempting to remove and reinstall a pad will damage the internal heating element and the 3M adhesive bond.

We recommend against installing heaters directly on diesel fuel tanks due to the risk of overheating the fuel supply.

Technical Specifications & Customization

Yes. We can engineer pad heaters to suit any dimension, wattage, or voltage requirement. If a standard heater does not fit your specific application, please contact us with your specifications for a custom build.

Standard TITAN heaters are available in 120V & 240V AC, as well as 12V & 24V DC for mobile or tactical applications.

No. When a TITAN heater is correctly sized for the oil capacity of the application, a thermostat is not required for safe operation.

Efficiency & Value

Application for application, TITAN pad heaters consume less energy than traditional block or tank-style coolant heaters. They are a more economical choice for long-term cold-weather idling or standby readiness.

TITAN heaters reduce operational costs by extending the service life of both the engine and the starter motor. They are entirely maintenance-free and significantly more energy-efficient than traditional immersion-style heaters.
